Bristol clothes swaps
Refresh your wardrobe in an affordable and planet-friendly way at one of our community clothes swapping events.
Autumn/winter kids’ clothes swaps
As part of this year’s Sustainable Fashion Week® we’re excited to be running two community autumn/winter kids’ clothes swaps.
Saturday 27 September
Windmill Hill Community Centre, 10:30–12:30
In partnership with South Bristol Climate Hub.
Sunday 12 October
BS3 Community Southville Centre, 11:00–13:00
In partnership with BS3 Community.
Whether your kid has outgrown that beautiful winter coat faster than you hoped, or point blank refuses to wear those amazing dungarees, this is your chance to update their wardrobe ready for the colder months ahead.
How do the clothes swaps work?
Please get your ticket in advance. This will give us an idea of how much clothing to expect on the day and lets us keep in touch with pre-event drop-off reminders and other details.
In the week leading up to the event (our preference), or on the day, during the 30 minutes before the swap starts, drop off up to 6 clean, good-quality kids’ clothing items to swap. In return, you’ll be given one stamp per swappable item.
On the day, exchange your stamps for a selection of useful, new-to-you clothing. (Remember to bring a bag to take your swaps home in!)
We will check all items at drop-off for quality (and seasonal relevance) to ensure a useful and enjoyable swapping experience for all. Please double check the list of clothing we accept (see below) before selecting your items to swap. We will reject any items that we deem unwearable, of poor quality, or seasonally inappropriate.
Unswapped items will be either donated to a local children’s charity or kept for future swaps.
What kinds of clothes should I bring?
To ensure a feel-good event, please only bring clean, good quality things you’d be happy to take home yourself.
We’d like to receive the following kids’ clothing items (ages 3–11) :
Jumpers, trousers, long-sleeved tops, dungarees, dresses, skirts
Winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves
Wellies, winter shoes, trainers
Warm nightwear and dressing gowns
Halloween costumes and Christmas-themed clothing (max. 1 per household)
Please do not bring:
Baby clothing and accessories (0–24 months)
Stained, discoloured, ripped or otherwise unwearable clothing
Underwear, swim wear and socks
Spring/summer clothing (save it for our spring/summer swap!)
